We found snails in the sand.

P-Town 4th of July

It was a beautiful sunny day in Provincetown. A perfect day for a parade!

After the compulsory marching band, firetrucks, and kids throwing candy came the float with oiled men in short shorts.

Even with firetruck horns wailing and house music thumping, Ella slept through the whole thing.

Here's Rey with his heaping pile of candy.

This definitely wasn't your run-of-the-mill small town parade.

Boston Tourists

On our first day in Boston, we took the kids to the Museum of Science. Rey was thrilled to see the T-Rex waiting for him outside (little did he know that a full scale skeleton model was inside in the museum).

Here's Ella and Holly in front of a kinetic sculpture by George Rhoads (click here to see it in motion). Ella was mesmerized.  I think we could have left her in front of it all day without her getting bored.

Okay, so I said we were in Boston, but we spent half of our time at the Museum of Science in Cambridge.

2. Subway.

3. Bus.

4. Ferry.

P-town here we come!
We went to the zoo between vacations to try to smell the corpse flower. It's going to bloom any day now

More Photos from Boston

The view from The Institute Of Contemporary Art.

Checking out the Rue Goldberg machine at the Museum of Science.

We were in two cities at once!

After the Museum of Science we visited the ducks from "Make Way for Ducklings" at the Public Garden at the Boston Commons.

We'll be riding these ducks to Provincetown tomorrow!

Belated Photos

You might have noticed that we haven't posted much.  This is due to lost camera cords and deleted iphone applications.  Oh well, we'll try to make up for lost time.  Here's some photos from a " Lost Weekend."

After a nice breakfast and lazy morning, we packed up the Scion and headed out to the western suburbs.  I have been wanting to take the kids out to Gale Woods, a working Community Supported Agriculture farm run by the Three Rivers Park district.  At the farm they have educational tours and interactive programs for youth and adults, as well as a food for sale grown onsite.

They had chickens!

Cows!

stinky compost!

Turtles!

We took a long hike down to the lake.

It was pretty windy.

Rey found a snake in the haystack.

Our New Community Garden!

The whole neighborhood has been working really hard on using the empty lot across the street from us in a positive way.  Last week we put in our first plants!  More photos of the plants in full bloom to come.
